About Me

A little bit of what got me here...

My first career started in the counseling field. I have a Master’s in Counseling and worked as a mental health therapist for several years. After a while, however, I felt something was missing. I have always been a positive person, and I found the counseling field to be somewhat negative. That may surprise some people, others maybe not so much. After evaluating my options, I chose to leave that field and begin a career in sales. I also started reading a lot of books…books such as: How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie; Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill; The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson; Put Your Dream to the Test by John Maxwell; and many others. The one thing that always stuck out in all the books I read was that to be truly successful, you should find something you love and then figure out how to make people pay you to do it. And that true success can only be achieved through entrepreneurialism. Well, my true love is music. To be more specific, my love is HipHop - the lifestyle, the music, the message. Not only that, but I love to be part of helping others succeed and reach their dreams. So I have embarked on this journey at Full Sail University to earn my Master’s in Entertainment Business. After I’ve completed my degree, I plan to create an artist management and promotion company that not only helps artists manage their careers from a business aspect, but also helps them become successful music entrepreneurs. I’ve seen too many artists self-destruct in the music business, and I want to help the artists I represent to develop a sustainable brand and understand the importance of integrity and reputation. In using my sales background, I also intend to integrate event and concert promotion into my business in order to showcase the artists I represent. Through the use of this blog, I will be sharing relevant artist management and promotion information as well as life coaching strategies that apply to the music business entrepreneur.
